Is it because Fall started few days ago that we feel the call of the forest ?

Here are a selection of amazing product designs reminding us that we are wild.

Forms in Nature is a chandelier, by artist Thyra Hilden and Pio Diaz, that casts a shadow of wild trees all around a room. « Using a simple action, such as intensifying the brightness at the center of the artwork, the light transforms the space and adds character, as the work throws oversized shadows onto walls and ceilings in the space in which it
hangs, explains the artist on her blog. The forest is mirrored around it’s horizontal central axis and forms a circle 360 degrees around the light source and thereby leads one onto the notion of a real world versus an underworld ».

Following the exemple of  the true design potential of a trunk (Tree Trunk Bench by Droog Design)

French designer Benjamin Graindorge showed during Design Miami Fallen Tree a striking piece of furniture that’s half bench, half tree. « The fallenTree bench is intended to reveal the wood’s DNA, to express it’s deepest nature by attempting to highlight the living fibre it is made of, I want to expose and bring it to life to reveal it’s primal identity: strong, indomitable and above all magnificent

Wood DNA, this is exactly what inspires « mth woodworks » creations a functional art and design company : « Our calling is to re-connect people with the fundamental feeling of strength and serenity the trees give us every day. The forest is a place where sometimes getting lost can help find your-self. Here in BC, our stretch of temperate rain forest boasts some of the highest biomass on earth, providing a sanctuary for animals, plants, and us humans ».

But watch out,  strolling in the forest can be dangerous sometimes, you might meet a wolf !
